Dear Son,
Your dad and I treasure our bedtime prayer with you every night. God’s blessings are with you always when you personalize this prayer as your own praise and petition to our heavenly father.
Our father in heaven,
Our prayer begins with trusting in God’s fatherly love.
Hallowed be your name,
We come before God with our utmost reverence.
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
We ask God to extend His power over every part of our lives.
We submit our wills and feelings to God.
Give us today our daily bread.
Pray for necessities rather than luxuries.
Pray for meaningful work.
Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Repent and seek forgiveness from God.
Forgive and seek the good of those who have wronged us.
Pray for meaningful relationships.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Seek God’s protection over our lives.
Both prosperity and adversity are sore tests,
and each one brings its own set of enticements
away from trusting in God
and toward centering our lives
on ourselves and for other things.
For yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory forever
Nothing can ever snatch away the kingdom, power, and glory
form our heavenly, loving Father.
We trust in the truth of God’s complete sufficiency.
