11. Righteous Praying

James 5:13-20

A strong commitment to prayer is a prerequisite to enduring suffering and affliction.

Through prayer, the church resists the assaults of Satan, receives the gifts of grace, seeks deliverance, healing, and restoration for the saints, supports evangelization, and hastens the return of the Lord.

The antidote to the suffering caused by evil treatment or persecution is seeking God’s comfort through prayer.

Mutual honesty, openness, and sharing of needs will enable believers to uphold each other in the spiritual struggle. Maintaining open, sharing, and praying relationships with other Christians gives the spiritual strength that provides victory over sin.
